Diary of a Wimpy Kid

             by Jeff Kinney

The story centers around a middle schooler named Greg who journals each day. At the end of reading Greg's first week of school, Friday, I was laughing out loud. My son became so interested from my giggles, he decided to give it a read.

Here's Friday's gem...

Greg says, "Today at school we got assigned to reading groups. They don't come right out and tell you if you're in the Gifted group or the Easy group, but you can figure it out right away by looking at the covers of the books they hand out."

Next is a picture of two books. One titled, "Einstein as a child," the other, "Bink Says Boo."

These types of quips run throughout the book. Jeff Kinney engages the readers from page one. This mom gives Diary of a Wimpy Kid five out of five peanut butter and jellies.
